I do a lot more thinking when I run without music.
- One hour of Netflix per night. After that, TV off.
- No ice cream until after the marathon. Sherbet/Froyo only on days I run 10+ miles.
- I need to get past some body image issues. Running shirtless means no band aids, less laundry and no shirt sticking to me and weighing me down. I ran my third mile this morning without a shirt and wasn’t disgusted with myself. I’m calling that a win.
- I’m still going to drink every now and then. I just need to keep the ultimate goal in mind when doing so.
I realize this all sounds kind of ridiculous, but I don’t want to look back on these upcoming five months with regret. No matter what, I’m not going to regret giving this training everything I’ve got. If I don’t BQ, then so be it. I’ll have tried.
